Richard Pickering
Obituary
August 7, 2017
After a long, courageous battle, Richard peacefully passed away at Mount Sinai Hospital on August 7th
2017 at the age of 70 with his loving wife, son and daughter by his side. He was a loving and devoted husband of Terri and caring and supportive step-father of Tara and David. Beloved son of deceased parents Ronald Arthur and Grace Jean Pickering and dear brother of Ronald, who generously donated his stem cells, and gave unfailing , continuous support throughout, along with his wife Lynn . He will be sadly missed by his nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Richard was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario where his passion and love of airplanes, automobiles, and boats began. He was involved with Media Relations for the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum in Mount Hope, Ontario and was the owner of BHG Media Fleet Services in Mississauga. He proudly curated the Classics Collection for the Canadian International Auto Show for 10 years, and was able to exhibit many extremely rare exotic automobiles from around the world. He and his wife were active members of the Mimico Cruising Club, where they enjoyed many years of boating aboard Meta IV and Headwaters British Car Club where they enjoyed touring their Triumph TR2 around the Caledon Hills and surrounding areas.
Richard consistently put his whole heart into everything he did whether it be with his family, his work or his hobbies. Strength, integrity and loyalty were his hallmarks. He will be missed by family, friends, colleagues and fellow “car guys”, which is a term he made his own.
